RolDigital signs an agreement with Allcot to measure its carbon footprint and offset its emissions

RolDigital has signed a two year agreement with Allcot to measure its carbon footprint and offset its annual emissions.

RolDigital is a company which offers digital printing in all formats and surfaces. Founded in 2007 it serves business nationally and has been an official Getafe sponsor since July 2014.

During 2014, RolDigital generated 14tCO2e (tonnes of CO2 equivalent), with these emissions coming largely from office energy use and unavoidable business travel.

The project chosen to offset RolDigital’s greenhouse gas emissions is the Brazilian Rosewood Protected Forest Project (RMDLT), which invests in preserving standing rainforest, using the REDD+ (Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation) methodology. Located in the Para region of Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest, the Project Area consists of 177,899 hectares of outstanding flora and fauna.

The Project’s main objective is to avoid and prevent unplanned deforestation of high conservation value rainforest, thus preventing net emissions of more than 20 Million tCO2e over the project’s 40-year lifetime. It also supports 130 families who live and practice subsistence farming within the Project area and provides protected habitat for vulnerable animals including the Giant Anteater, Pearly Parakeet and Black-handed Tamarin.

“I chose to invest in sustainability through Allcot and offset carbon emissions from my company to help to preserve our planet. Also the Getafe sustainability program inspired me to follow his example and make RolDigital sustainable,” said Ruben Torres, CEO of RolDigital.
